Economic Strategy and Governance Study Group

The RPI is launching a new event series, titled “Economic Strategy and Governance Study Group”, that will meet on a regular basis in Central London. The motivation in this case stems from the observed high resistance of vertically organised, administrative/bureaucratic governance structures to learning from developments in other fields of science, most particularly in neuroscience.

It will open with a session on the distinctions between ‘plans’ and ‘strategies’, with the development and content of the Balcerowicz ‘plan’ (1989) for the Polish economy (more properly called a strategy) as an illustrative case study of the two different gestalts.

Anyone interested in joining the group should send an email to seminars@rpieurope.org, with the first event scheduled to take place on the 18th July at the National Liberal Club.
