David Gray

David is former chair of Ofgem and currently Chairman of Mutual Energy, NI, and a non-executive director of the CAA. He has also worked in the financial services industries.

Ed Humpherson

Ed Humpherson is Director General for Regulation of the UK Statistics Authority. Previously he was a Board Member and Executive Leader for Economic Affairs at the National Audit Office.

Gordon Downie

Gordon Downie is a partner at Shepherd + Wedderburn and an acknowledged leader in the field of UK and EU competition law and regulation. His law practice has developed an emphasis on the role and functioning of markets in regulated sectors in the UK and overseas.

Hannah Nixon

Hannah is currently a non executive director of both the National Grid ESO and the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authority.

Hannah Nixon is the former Managing Director of the Payment Systems Regulator. She joined the PSR from Ofgem, where she led on the development and implementation of a new regulatory framework. Prior to Ofgem she was head of regulatory economics at the Office of Rail Regulation.

James Walker

James Walker is founder and CEO of Resolver, a company founded in 2014 and dedicated to creating better resolution outcomes between businesses and consumers. It is now the largest consumer complaint website in the UK, recognised by all key ombudsmen, regulators and consumer organisations.

Jonson Cox

Jonson Cox is Chairman of Ofwat and Non-Executive Chairman of Harworth Group plc. Before taking his post as Ofwat Chairman in 2012 he led the solvent restructuring of UK Coal plc, and previously was the CEO of Anglian Water plc and Managing Director of Yorkshire Water. He began his business career with Royal Dutch Shell group, and has become well known for leading businesses in 'challenging situations'.

Mark Bentley

Mark Bentley is Senior Managing Director in the power, energy and renewables investment banking group (Europe) of Guggenheim Securities International.

Nick Baker

Dr Nick Baker is a member of Severn Trent Water's customer forum, and is CEO and chair designate of Savanta, a market research and data collection company, part of Next 15 Communications Group PLC.

Nigel Cornwall

Nigel Cornwall is founder and director of Cornwall Insight. He has extensive experience of energy restructuring in the UK and overseas, and, as a civil servant oversaw the establishment of the National Grid.

Orlando Finzi is a senior credit analyst with M&G Investments.

Peter Atherton

Peter Atherton is an associate with FTI, Cornwall Insight, Sustainability First, and the RPI. Previously he was an equity analyst covering the European utility sector and has also lead research teams at a number of investment banks.

Peter Haigh is the former managing director of Bristol Energy. He is the director of Energy Market Risk Ltd, an energy consultancy and is a member of the Wales & West Utilities Customer Engagement Group.

Sharon Darcy

Sharon Darcy is Director of Sustainability First, an environment think-tank focussed on GB practice and policy in the areas of energy and water supply and water management. Until April 2019 Sharon served on the Council of Which? and prior to that she was a long-standing board member of Consumer Futures and its predecessor bodies, Consumer Focus and energywatch. She is a board member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), a member of the UK Regulators Network Expert Panel and of the British Academy Public Policy Committee.

Sheldon Mills

Sheldon Mills is the Director of Competition at the Financial Conduct Authority. Previously he was Senior Director, Mergers and State Aid, at the Competition and Markets Authority.

Sonia Brown, Chair

Sonia is Director of UK Regulatory Policy and Public Affairs at Visa Europe. Prior to joining Visa in 2015 Sonia was a board member and Chief Regulation Officer at Ofwat, and before that, Chief Economist at Monitor. She began her career at Ofgem.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith is the Competition & Regulatory Strategy Director at Lloyds Banking Group where he leads the implementation of remedies from the Group CMA Retail Banking Inquiry as well as LBG's project to understand and prepare for the impact of Brexit.

Tony Ballance

Dr Tony Ballance is the Director of Strategy and Regulation at Severn Trent Water. Prior to joining Severn Trent he served as Chief Economist at Ofwat and held directorships at both London Economics and Stone and Weber Consultants. His particular interests are in utility policy, regulation, and stakeholder engagement.

Tony is Chairman of the Corporate Advisory Group at the RPI.
